El Valle - Part 2

It was great to be up in the mountains. We had lunch in an outdoor cafe (with lots of Wren chasing between bites, this is a new, not very welcomed, theme in our restaurant eating).

And then went for a walk in El Níspero zoo and botanical gardens.

Where we saw some of the few remaining Golden Frogs in existence.

And a few more common species - Geoffroy's tamarins, for example.

The day disintegrated into some major fuss, though, as we hopped into the car for the trip home. Hunger and fatigue. Some snacks in the car solved half the problem. A long, solid night of sleep solved the other half, for all of us. (Ahhh, sweet sleep!)

Rachel, at 2-years old when we were in France, those little French kids sat endlessly through meals while you cheerfully ran around--us after you. One might say inter- generational justice, but I can sympathize.

I remember you telling me about how active I was in those French restaurants, I always thought it was funny, but now I appreciate how exhausting it must have been too! I also love the running someone's toes over with the stroller story - which I can also sympathize with - all the stories coming back, but now with me on the other side.
