To be fair, we should give you a sense of proportion - he was really quite small. There were a number of venomous creatures in our village in Bulgaria - snakes, spiders, centipedes, and our frequent visitors, these tiny scorpions. We're not sure how Gwendolyn managed it, but she sailed though many near encounters unscathed. We're writing these post several weeks later, after returning to Germany, and we are very happy to report that she is still safe, sound and scorpion-sting-free.

I am glad you waited to post this photo until you were back in Germany. If I had seen it while you were still in Bulgaria, I might have bitten off my finger nails.
I think I have watched to many Indy and the Mummy movies - I had no idea they came that small.
I feel compelled to relate to our readers the fact that not all the scorpions we saw were that small. There was one about the length of my index finger that lived under the door frame into our flat. And another one that liked to hang out in the room where we ate breakfast--even during the day. I almost bit off my own finger nails as I suppressed my natural fear response and tried to look brave for the gals.
