The last week of September, I took a nearly 30 hour plane trip (layovers included), from Panama to Australia. There was a week-long behavioral ecology conference in the city of Perth.

It was my first time to Australia and wonderful to be there, although a little hard to be cooped up in a conference center much of the time. We did have a few afternoons off. Here's one, a wine and chocolate tour with Mike and Raelynn.

A boat ride on the Swan River. The tiny speck in the water is one of Perth's famed black swans.

And a trip to the Perth zoo and to beautiful King's Park. Crazy plants and animals everywhere!
