On the return trip from Perth, I stopped in Austin for a week of manuscript and grant proposal writing, and my first time serving on a dissertation committee. David and Gwendolyn joined me, and we had a fantastic week, seeing old friends, exploring old haunts, remembering how much we miss Austin!
We took a trip to McKinney Falls with Kim and Karin (Kim flew in from Colorado for this visit!). Gwendolyn immediately stripping off her clothes and getting into the water.
A wonderful dinner at the G'Raj Mahal (not at all like a garage!), with this awesome snake-skeleton bicycle behind us. And the chance to see Alisha again.
A day at the Austin City Limits Music festival, quite a bit harder to navigate with a two year old than it was on our own in years past.
But Gwendolyn loved the kiddie tents, especially wanted to join the African dancing.
