Already two weeks into 2011, time flies! We had a pretty social New Years with not one but two parties. About an hour into the first one, Gwendolyn fell asleep under the table on a hard wood floor. We then carried her down the street, where friends had a bonfire and bundles of fireworks ready to go. We lasted until almost 12, but by then the sound of fireworks going off just feet from our ears became too much (amazingly, Gwendolyn continued to sleep through all this in David's arms!). We headed home and watched the full display from our bedroom window. Our street seemed to be the Gamboa center for the masses of amateur firework explosions (no regulation at all here in Panama). The sky seems red in this picture because the air was thick with smoke. Happily (amazingly) there were no injuries at all. Happy 2011 everyone!
